About the role:

We are seeking confident, tertiary-qualified professionals in Food Science with Quality Assurance experience in high-care food manufacturing.

This is an excellent opportunity for QA Officers ready to step up and take ownership of site-wide QA processes. Reporting directly to technical site operations, you will receive tailored support and training to grow in your role.

The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail and a deep understanding of industry regulations.

We currently have two exciting positions based in South side Brisbane and Adelaide, South Australia, offering full time hours Monday to Friday.

Key duties:

  • Induct all staff on food handling and hygiene per company induction procedure, as required.
  • Maintain Training Records and coordinate with department heads on training needs of staff.
  • Monitor staff compliance to QA processes and procedures.
  • Assess GMP through monthly audits. Work with stake holders to close out corrective actions.
  • Obtain and review product temperature data through the production process.
  • Review quality checks of products on the lines; check weigh ingredients and products
  • Manage the positive Release program for all raw materials work directly with suppliers to ensure compliance to the COA program.
  • Review organoleptic assessment of products and shelf life verification.
  • Monitor environmental swabbing according to swab plan and update plan as required.
  • Order product and ingredient samples for testing in accordance with microbiological test plan.
  • Analyse and report on microbiological results.
  • Establish training programs and manage training records.
  • Raise supplier non-conformances, follow up corrective actions and update national register as required.
  • Raise internal and customer non-conformances, follow up corrective actions and update national register.
  • Input any non-conformances from regulatory and customers audits in national register.
  • Coordinate, investigate and report on product quality complaints.
  • Ensure that non-conformance reports are completed and investigated.
  • Daily, weekly reporting of NCRs and customer feedback to the site Management Team
  • Review update and maintain the Food safety plan and supporting programmes.
  • Administer the NPD procedures for the site.
  • Ensure specifications are available for all raw materials and ingredients and monitor supplier conformance to specification.
  • Implement and manage quality requirements of customers requiring a private label product.
  • Implement any QA process upgrades as required and deliver any associated training.
  • Assist with embedding implementation of private label product production with the production team.
  • Manage specific reporting customers’ requirements.

Key selection criteria:

  • Food Technology and or Science Qualification.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Quality Assurance roles especially high care.
  • Strong compliance expertise is essential, with a deep understanding of industry regulations.
  • GMP, HACCP, VACCP systems experience is essential and knowledge of BRC standards is highly valued.
