Mining RF/Comms Technician
WA Communications has been operating since 1980 and has become the leading Southwest Region (Australia) supplier of radio communication systems, wireless and fixed networks.
WA Communications is seeking Mining Systems Technicians or Communications Technicians for roles at well-established sites.
- Start as a permanent position or with 6–12month contract and highly anticipated expansion into ongoing role.
- Full time role – minimum 76 hours per fortnight.

- Accommodation and meals provided. (Not camp when on extended swings at mine/refinery sites)
This is offered as a permanent position; however, we would engage on a contract basis if preferred.
This position would be best filled from within Bunbury and surrounding areas, however for the right person the area could be worked from as far as Perth to Margaret River with an attractive roster enabling a great work life balance.
Duties:
The role involves routine maintenance, project work and break/fix repairs of radio systems equipment in heavy mining fleet, LV’s and other areas as well as fixed infrastructure. The systems include Radio, PTP and PMPT links, cabling, fibre and other communications equipment.
These roles will play an integral part in our mining projects teams servicing mining and government clients across Western Australia. This role is responsible for carrying out a variety of technology installations, site repairs, mobile asset scoping / design.
The successful candidates will be offered a competitive rate of pay commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and will have the support of a proactive management team and experienced technical staff.
REQUIREMENTS
- Trade qualifications in Radio Communications, Electronics, IT, Electrical or similar.
- Current C Class manual license.
- Must be able to work autonomously and within a small team.
- Able to work alternating day and night shift if required
- Be self-motivated.
- Be able to pass drug and alcohol tests.
- Minimum of 2 + years’ experience in radio systems or relevant employment experience as per the duties.
