This large public sector organisation provide a range of support services for their client base. Their work helps thousands of people in need across the country. Operating across Australia, they're experiencing strong growth across all sectors as they continue to be the driving force in the industry.

Due to a restructure in the finance division, there is a newly created need for a Senior Financial Accountant to join the business. This is a broad role covering financial compliance, reporting, supporting organisational growth, and continuous improvement. Duties will include:

• Month end reporting - ensuring accuracy & compliant with regulatory requirements
• Identify & implement strategies to streamline month end processes
• Supporting wider finance team with half year, and full year end reporting
• Monthly accruals & expense allocation
• Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations.
• Consistently reviewing, and improving the balance sheet reconciliation system
• Contributing towards continuous process improvement across the entire business, and offering insights to support financial performance improvements
• Take ownership of projects to support process improvements
• Continuous review of financial controls, identifying streamlining strategies
• Supporting senior leadership team with complex financial transaction and accounting standards

You will be CA or CPA qualified, and have a minimum of 5 years experience in a financial accounting role. You will have demonstrated knowledge of relevant accounting standards, and experience in driving efficiencies, project management, and implementing process improvement strategies.
