Shark Bay Salt Pty Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsui & Co. Ltd, which is one of the worlds most diversified trading, investment, and services enterprises. We own and operate two salt fields in Western Australia with our high-quality salt being exported to various overseas markets.

Our new corporate head office is situated in the heart of the CBD, this position is responsible for the internal and external day to day accounting functions of the companies within Shark Bay Salt Group.

About the Role

This position includes but is not limited to the following:

• Processing of assets addition and disposal for all entities in SBS Group.
• Manage reconciliation and processing of credit card statements.
• Complete petty cash reconciliation.
• Complete intercompany, fair value and group elimination journals.
• Complete assigned month end journals for all entities in Shark Bay Salt Group including but not limited to periodic journals, prepayment, interest and loan accruals, guarantee fees, royalty, tax and audit expenses accruals, and others as directed by Supervisor.
• Administrative completion of Balance Sheet Reconciliation.
• Relief duties to Accounts Officer(s) and Junior Accountant on bank reconciliation.
• Prepare ad-hoc bank transfer for SBS office, and relief duties for Accounts Officer for AP/AR tasks.
• Complete royalty lodgement for Accountants.
• Complete all ABS surveys for three entities and ensure submission within their deadlines.
• Administrative support for the audit process in cooperation with Compliance and Audit PIC for the SBS Group.
• Ensuring compliance with J-Sox Internal Control procedures.

Skills & Experience

• Degree in Accounting or related degree.
• Knowledge of relevant legislations.
• Proven experience in undertaking at least two years of accounting functions within a similar commercial organisation.
• Professional membership CPA or CA or studying towards (highly desirable)
• Sound written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience using Pronto accounting system.
• General analytical and problem solving skills.
• The ability to work unsupervised or in a small team.
• High level organisational skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities and conflicting deadlines.
• Intermediate computing skills and knowledge to Microsoft Office applications.
