Manufacturing Manager / Compliance / All Rounder - Hands On Role

Neutron Laboratory based in Rowville, Victoria requires an experienced / qualified Manufacturing Chemist to replace an existing position within our small team, now vacant due to Semi – Retirement of incumbent.

About Neutron; – established in 2017 as a contract manufacturer to service clients marketing Premium Product in both domestic and export markets, we are the manufacturing arm of a broader family owned business operating in Healthcare and “Cosmeceutical” markets. Our business has expanded its clientele to include some of Australia’s major Personal Care Brand Owners it has also expanded product range into general personal care and also household product markets.

We have a small, tight knit team of manufacturing professionals who have a combined many years of experience in manufacture and filling of liquid, cream and ointment type products.

Production hours are 8am – 4pm Monday – Friday.

About the Role; - the successful applicant will have several years hands on experience in the manufacture of personal care or related products, you will be responsible for the planning, compliance to standard and quality standards of all bulk product, in a safe and efficient manner, managing and deploying available resources on a daily basis.

Normal day will consist of assisting and directing in the manufacture of bulk product, testing and adjusting product to meet specifications, assist GM with planning and ordering of materials to meet production plan, assist in assessing new opportunities, investigate any enquiry relating to the quality of manufactured product.

Compliance; – the role is responsible for the maintenance and compliance of our current GMP Accreditation – ISO 22716, managing and coordinating yearly surveillance audits as well as coordinate and maintain the Q.A. System to meet requirements of 3 yearly audit.

New Product Development; - as required, research and develop new products and / or variation to existing products, also evaluate alternate / new raw materials and suppliers as opportunities arise.

About the successful applicant; - you will have minimum 3 years experience in the manufacture and testing of personal care products or related process. You will be experienced in operating standard laboratory equipment such as viscometer, pH Meter, refractometer, lab stirrers, scales, heater pad, SG Cup etc. You will be an Australian Citizen or a Permanent Resident Visa Holder. Most importantly you will possess and exhibit a “can do” attitude and be willing to work in a small team of people with a view to operating a successful business. Drivers License is essential, forklift license and advantage, ability to manually handle pack sizes up to 25kg is essential also, people management skills will be important in this role, you will be computer literate with the Microsoft Office suite of software forming an integral part of our structure.

Salary range - $90k - $110k + Superannuation
