Job Description

We are seeking Disability Support Workers to provide personal support in Port Augusta, with a focus on respecting comfort and privacy needs for our Supported Independent Living services (SIL).

As a Disability Support Worker you will be responsible for providing high quality, person-centered support with a culturally inclusive approach to our participants.

The position aims to empower participants to achieve their potential and live the life they choose. Participants are supported to maintain their independence, exercise choice and control and maintain relationships in accordance with their individual person-centered plans. The position also requires communication with the families and carers of participants and employees at other services and activities that participants might access.

Required:

Disability Support Workers MUST have the following:

Certificate III in Disability, Individual Support or similar

Valid First Aid

Valid CPR Certificate

NDIS Workers Screening Check

NDIS Orientation Module Certificate

NDIS Effective Communication Certificate

NDIS Safe and Enjoyable Meals Certificate

Medication Management Certificate

Valid Unrestricted Drivers Licence

Fluent & literate in English and numeracy to fulfil role

Working with Children Check (not mandatory but preferred)

100 points ID (passport/birth certificate/Visa/right to work)

Cultural awareness training (not mandatory but preferred)

1-2 Years experience working with individuals with behavioural concerns
