Survivors of Torture and Trauma Rehabilitation Service (STTARS) is a non-government, not for profit organisation that has been operating in South Australia since 1991. About the role
STTARS is looking for a bright, proactive and culturally sensitive administrator to provide support to our Administration Team. Reporting to the Executive Support and Administration lead, this position will be responsible for broad administration functions including reception duties, document and database management and word processing. This role will require a high level of professionalism, attention to detail and an ability to adjust based on competing priorities. A commitment to consistently providing a high standard of work is essential.
Key responsibilities include:
• Providing a warm welcome to our clients at all times
• Reception duties including managing the switchboard
• Providing administrative support including word processing/data management
• Coordination and liaison with clients, interpreters, external agencies and other team members
• Record management including filing and archived file management
• Participating in team meetings and working groups as required

• Have exceptional interpersonal, communication and time management skills
• Have multicultural awareness and a professional demeanour working with people from all walks of life
• Have a high standard of confidentiality and empathy
• Be flexible in your approach to administration duties and reception services
• Have experience as an administration assistant or coordinator
• Be confident in your Microsoft Office skills
• Be an independent and self-driven individual who understands the importance and collaboration for mutual benefit

Desirable criteria:
• Experience working within a culturally diverse setting
• Knowledge of the refugee/human rights sector or other community service areas and/or experience in a not-for-profit environment
• Experience managing website/social media content
• Skilled using Canva or similar to create advertisements, flyers and resources

• A valid and current National Criminal History Check (Police Clearance)
• Photo ID
• Evidence of right to work in Australia
