Leading Australian owned International Freight Forwarder seeking Senior Financial Accountant to join team to support Financial Controller working Hybrid at modern CBD Office and 2 days WFH. Initially your role with be hands on for solid understanding then once established lead and mentor team development.

About the role :-

• Account Reconciliations – Overseas and Local plus inter company
• Internal controls
• Compliance/TAX
• Prepare / reconcile monthly BAS returns (GST/FBT returns) for Company to ensure timely returns to ATO
• Reconciliation
• EOM Reporting and closing
• Management Reporting local and OS monthly & Quarterly
• General Ledger
• Year end accounts and Audit twice per year
• Assist with Annual Budget & Quarterly forecasting.
• Day to day requests for financial information from other areas of business HQ and local
• Preparation of balance sheet monthly and when required
• Monthly account statements
• Generating reports for clients and sales team
• Processing Credit applications
• Administration Tasks
• Ensure all internal deliverables are met which include monthly closing of accounts, P&L / Balance Sheet
• Annual financial statements for audit
• Internal audit controls
• Maintain partnering relationships with internal/overseas accounts and networks

Experience Required/ Qualifications

Suitable for CA/CPA 3 + years Financial Accounting experience

Ideally working in Freight Forwarding accounting role

Ideally have Cargowise experience

• Strong Excel experience including Vlook Ups, Pivot Tables and advanced formulas
• Strong communication skills
• Can work alone
• Innovative to set out processes and templates for team
• Work in a small team environment with open mind for support and growth
• Strong analytical & problem solving capabilities & aptitude
• Mature & adaptable outlook able to proactively embrace change & improvement
• Exhibit a high level of accuracy & attention to detail
