About This Opportunity

The University of Queensland's ULTRA Program is pioneering new approaches to randomised controlled trials (RCTs), transforming how healthcare interventions are designed, conducted, and translated into practice. This is your opportunity to be part of a groundbreaking initiative that enhances trial efficiency, impact, and accessibility through cutting-edge qualitative research.

We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow (Level A) to play a pivotal role in embedding qualitative methods within randomised clinical trials. Working within UQ's ULTRA team (UQ's Clinical Trial Capability) and integrated with the establishing UQ Clinical Trials Centre, you will collaborate with leading health professionals, and trial methodologists to shape the future of clinical trials.

If you are passionate about qualitative research before, during and after randomised clinical trials and improving healthcare outcomes, we encourage you to apply and be part of this exciting journey!

Key responsibilities will include:

Research: Contribute to ULTRA's research program, publish in high-quality outlets, collaborate on joint projects, seek research funding, and drive knowledge translation. Develop an emerging research profile and explore innovative qualitative methodologies in clinical trials.

Supervision and Researcher Development: Supervise Honours and Higher Degree by Research students, mentor and develop researchers, provide feedback and professional development, manage research staff, and resolve conflicts in line with UQ policies.

Citizenship and Service: Engage in unit activities, support colleagues, participate in committees and decision-making, contribute to external partnerships, and uphold UQ's values.

This is a research focused position. Further information can be found by viewing UQ's Criteria for Academic Performance.
