In the role of Project Manager (ITS&E ) you will project manage the delivery of the statewide projects through the provision of technical expertise, project management experience and the administration of contracts to the design, construction and maintenance processes associated with project delivery. In doing this you will ensure effective coordination of key operational activities and resources associated with project management of multiple projects.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Project manage multiple ITS & Electrical infrastructure projects through the project life cycle being responsible for the project outcomes.
- Using your technical knowledge, expertise and leadership you will coordinate all relevant activities to ensure successful delivery of projects within time, quality, cost and other project targets.
- Manage and coordinate statewide project teams, materials, resources and suppliers to ensure all members are appropriately skilled and utilised, and to ensure deliverables, time and budgetary requirements are met.
- Manage project teams to resolve complex issues to improve overall project performance.
- Prepare and deliver submissions and reports relating to project issues, and identify appropriate mitigation strategies to overcome problems or obstacles related to the project/s.
- Identify and engage the necessary internal and external expertise to deliver project requirements, including the selection, engagement and procurement of contractors and suppliers.
- In managing the operational aspects of the projects, you will develop and facilitate plans to ensure their effective and efficient delivery. It is essential that you identify and liaise with stakeholders and manage their expectations.
- You will manage, supervise and coordinate resource allocation for your projects and encourage effective teamwork and foster a positive attitude toward organisational objectives.
Mandatory qualifications and conditions
- Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
- Applicants must possess a current, valid Queensland "C" class driver's licence or equivalent.
- You may be required to travel to other locations within Queensland to undertake activities for varying periods of time. You will be entitled to expenses and allowances for such travel.
Desirable requirements
- Electrical Mechanic with Electrical Work Licence; or
- A Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent Electrical Engineering qualification, which is acceptable for corporate membership of Engineers Australia, is highly desirable.
- A Diploma in Project Management or suitable demonstrated experience is highly desirable.
