We are pleased to be working with our client based in Smithfield, NSW to lead the search for an experienced Industrial Technician.
Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, the Industrial Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing the electrical systems and components in a semi-automated factory. The role includes working with machinery and automated systems (PLC/SCADA systems), ensuring that all electrical systems operate efficiently and safely. This position requires a deep understanding of industrial electrical systems, automation controls, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-tech environment.
The Industrial Electrician plays a vital role in preventing downtime, minimizing equipment failures, and supporting the factory’s production goals by keeping all electrical systems and manufacturing equipment, running optimally.
This will involve shift-based work (4-on-4 day shift only) or on-call availability may be required to address urgent maintenance needs and ensure uninterrupted production.
Your Role
- Perform all preventative maintenance, inspections and electrical work in line with relevant legislation and wiring codes as scheduled and required.
- Perform ad hoc maintenance, fault finding and troubleshooting across all plant, and production equipment, to minimise production downtime, as required
- Perform installation works and upgrades of electrical, control systems and specialised instrumentation, including PLC systems, as required.

To Succeed:
- Current NSW Electrical Fitter/Mechanic licence
- 3 years+ electrical maintenance experience in an industrial, mining or continuous process manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated Siemens PLC/SCADA/Drives knowledge
- Strong mechanical aptitude or Dual trade qualification
- The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Computer literacy
- EWP Licence
- Desirable - Advanced Post Trade qualifications in PLC’s, Instrumentation or Engineering
- Experience in Pneumatics and/or Hydraulic systems
- Forklift licence desirable
