About the role

Koala Kindy, a trusted early childhood education provider, is seeking an experienced Centre Cook to join our team in Helensvale, QLD. This part-time role is responsible for preparing nutritious and delicious meals for the children in our care, ensuring their dietary and allergy needs are met.

What you'll be doing

• Plan, prepare and serve healthy, well-balanced meals and snacks for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years
• Ensure all meals and snacks meet the Australian Dietary Guidelines and cater to individual dietary requirements
• Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen, following all food safety and handling procedures
• Work collaboratively with the teaching team to promote healthy eating habits in children
• Actively participate in centre events and maintain a positive, professional demeanour
• Comply with all relevant regulations, policies and procedures
• Prepare and develop seasonal menus, developed with educator and family feedback and order stock accordingly

What we're looking for

• Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification
• Current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
• Minimum 2 years' experience as a cook in an early learning setting
• Knowledge of nutrition, food safety and handling, and the ability to cater for a range of dietary requirements
• Excellent time management and organisational skills to ensure meals are prepared and served on time
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with the teaching team
