The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a passion for customer service and sales to join our Millicent Mitre 10 store. This is a casual position (up to 30 hours per week, with flexible weekday hours).
As a Retail Team Member, you will be a clear communicator, highly approachable, and knowledgeable in garden care, and retail operations. You will deliver excellent customer service, build strong relationships with customers, and assist with stock and garden product management.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide exceptional customer service and product advice.
- Assist customers with garden product selection, including fertilizers, plants, and pest control solutions.
- Maintain and present the garden centre area.
- Build strong customer relationships and identify their needs.
- Prepare customer quotes and process transactions, including banking and administrative duties.
- Manage stock levels, ensuring minimal shrinkage and stock loss.
- Maintain correct stock tickets and perform stock refills.
- Follow WHS procedures and ensure store cleanliness and safety.
- Support general administrative duties, including handling invoices, reconciliations, and stock management.
Required Skills and Attributes:
- Strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented approach.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport quickly.
- Knowledge and experience in gardening products (Preferable)
- Qualification in Horticulture (Desirable)
- Strong computer and administrative skills (e.g., processing orders, handling banking tasks).
- Comfortable with manual handling activities.
- Willingness to stay up to date with the latest paint and garden technologies.
