Job Description
We are looking for an experienced change manager who has preferably worked with the health community, HR, and/or Finance and can develop relationships with technical subject matter experts quickly. This is an excellent opportunity to influence how this initiative progresses while contributing to broader organisational changes. Additionally, this role will involve building change management capability across the Department.
Successful applicants will be required to:
- Deliver change in-line with the Department of Health and Aged Care’s Enterprise Change Management Framework, Model, and Enterprise Agreement
- Engage with impacted groups to develop and contribute to key inputs into the change management strategy and plan including: sponsor engagement, stakeholder analysis, impact analysis, readiness assessments, risk assessments, and benefits realisation
- Identify potential people-related risks and anticipated points of resistance, and develop specific plans to mitigate or address the concerns
- Identify, monitor and provide expert advice on whether stakeholders and impacted staff are ready, willing and able to make the change
- Provide advice and expertise in change management including mentoring and coaching as needed
Provide support aligned to the EL1 equivalent in the APS - Travel to other office locations, either locally or interstate, on an as-needs basis.

The successful candidate will also have:
- At least 5 years’ experience and knowledge of applying change management principles and methodologies.
- A solid understanding of how people go through a change and the change process.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and senior leadership teams.
- Strong analytic and decision-making abilities
- Coaching and mentoring experience in change management
- Experience in aligning change management with benefits realisation
- Experience in Shared Services, ERPs, and/or SAP
- Ability to align change management outputs with an enterprise framework
- Ability to contribute to building change management capability more broadly and to coach and develop junior staff
- Change Management Practitioner Certification and qualifications would be well regarded.
About the specific project
The IWOW program is delivering an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system which will provide critical support in key business areas such as Finance, HR and supply chain management, fostering efficiency and productivity. The ERP will support business transformation, empower a skilled workforce and enable informed decision-making by offering real time insights into operations. Additionally, it will significantly enhance workforce productivity, allowing employees to focus on strategic initiatives rather than administrative tasks.
About the organisation
Client
The Department is undertaking a broad-reaching program of exciting client-focused organisational and cultural change. The Department is responsible for delivering health, ageing and sports outcomes for all Australians and is seeking interest from Change Managers experienced in Shared Services, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and/or SAP to support the Innovative Ways of Working (IWOW) Program.
Criteria to be addressed
There is a (5000-character limit) for each individual response. i.e.
Essential criteria
1. a. Suitable candidates will be rated against their demonstrated motivation, skills, knowledge, experience, qualifications and ‘fit’ to perform the role. b. Referee checks may be performed to qualify the candidate’s claims. c. Value for Money in relation to the candidates quoted hourly rate. (5000 characters max)
