Currently, there are around 4.3 million Australians with a disability. The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare. As an Agency, we support more than 680,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability. For many Australians, this will be the first time they receive the disability support they need. The NDIA is designed to enhance the quality of life and increase economic and social participation for people with disability and will mean a peace of mind for every Australian.?

A new role awaits

The Scheme Claims and Payments Branch plays a pivotal role within the NDIA, facilitating NDIS payments by designing ICT systems and resolving payment enquiries lodged by NDIS-registered providers and self-managed participants. Our mission is to ensure all NDIS payments are processed accurately, efficiently and in compliance with governance requirements, supporting the financial integrity of the NDIS.

In addition to payment processing, the branch delivers insightful analysis and reporting, identifying trends and informing decision-making from the NDIS Board, the NDIA Senior Leadership Team and at various operational levels across the NDIA. We also lead and support NDIA initiatives aimed at empowering providers and participants by enhancing their independence and ensuring successful, timely and accurate processing of NDIS claims and payments.

With a strong focus on innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement, the Scheme Claims and Payments Branch contributes directly to the NDIA’s expected outcomes of empowering NDIS participants to achieve their goals and participate fully in the community whilst ensuring a sustainable and high-performing Where you can add value

We are looking for high-performing, enthusiastic and dedicated leaders who are passionate about making a meaningful impact for NDIS participants. As part of the Scheme Claims and Payments Branch, you will play a critical role in ensuring NDIS payments are accurate, efficient, and aligned with the NDIA’s purpose.

You will develop and maintain trusted stakeholder relationships across the NDIA and with external partners, ensuring effective collaboration and alignment on key initiatives. You will implement effective financial controls and processes to ensure compliance with legislation, policies, and governance frameworks to maintain operational integrity and deliver NDIS payments in a timely and accurate manner.

Remote working arrangements may be considered. We intend to fill this role in an ongoing capacity, however non-ongoing roles up to 12 months with the possibility of extension up to 2 years may be offered.

Successful candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police History check, Worker Screening check and/or Working with Children Check (where required) and provide evidence of Australian Citizenship.
