This position qualifies for a Recruitment Incentive Package up to the value of $10,000 (pro-rata part-time/temporary positions less than 18 months), and a reoccurring Annual Retention Bonus valued up to $10,000 (pro-rata part time), under the NSW Health Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme.
This scheme recognises the role key health workers play in enabling the delivery of rural and remote health services, and aims to provide incentives over and above award entitlements, to attract and retain staff in these areas.
To recognise ongoing service in this role, once the successful candidate has served a qualifying period, they will become entitled to a reoccurring Annual Retention Bonus valued up to $10,000 (as taxable income).

What you'll be doing
- The Senior Clinical Occupational Therapist position is responsible for providing assessment and treatment primarily to the Adults services however at time paediatric services maybe required on outreach or during times of low staffing.
- The clinical services span the areas of Acute Inpatient, Subacute, Outpatient/Hand Therapy and community. Outreach and telehealth services may also be components of services that will be required. (Please note due to the vast distances of outreach services either adult or paediatric service provision maybe required with appropriate support from an appropriate source.
- It is expected that the successful person would have experience in all/majority of the above areas or the willingness to undertake further professional development in areas that require upskilling.
- The position will be based within a particular case load depending on negotiation with the Occupational Therapy Manager and staffing levels within the department.

How to Apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria in the application as thoroughly as possible:
- Degree in Occupational Therapy with registration via APRHA and ability to be registered via appropriate professional organisation
- Demonstrated current clinical knowledge and skills regarding Occupational Therapy practice in adult case load interventions.
- Demonstrated high level Written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence based practice.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, as a member of the multidisciplinary team, prioritise and manage a mixed caseload.
- Capacity to provide staff and student supervision, clinical and service consultation. Demonstrated computer and keyboard skills using word processing, software and database packages.
- Current unrestricted drivers license and Working with Children Check.
- Demonstrated ability to adhere to the defined standards of ethical and professional conduct consistent with the current NSW Health Code of Conduct and/or relevant professional standards where applicable

About Far West NSW Local Health District
Bordering three states, Far West Local Health District (LHD) covers 194,949 square kilometres in remote NSW. The LHD is sparsely populated, with 62% of its approximately 30,000 inhabitants living in the Silver City of Broken Hill. The remainder of the population live in agricultural towns along the Murray River, in small remote communities of 80-800 people or on stations throughout the LHD. Far West LHD is the most sparsely populated LHD in NSW and has the highest proportion of Aboriginal residents (9.6%). The population is decreasing, ageing and experiencing significant morbidity related to lifestyle factors and chronic illness.
