We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Design Technologies (Engineering and Materials) Teacher to join our secondary teaching team. The successful candidate will also be able to teach in other subject areas based on their expertise and the needs of the college.

About the role - As a dynamic and innovative member of our school community, you will:
- Create a nurturing and ordered learning environment which is learner-centred, safe, supportive, co-operative and aligned with relevant curriculum, policies and practices
- Collaborate with your peers to develop and implement quality curriculum programs and appropriate pedagogy
- Deliver engaging and innovative lessons in Design Technologies (Engineering and Materials) to secondary students
- Plan, prepare, and assess curriculum-aligned learning experiences that cater to diverse student needs
- Integrate technology and contemporary pedagogical practices to enhance student learning
- Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to a vibrant and supportive faculty team
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Assess, provide feedback and report on student learning
- Work with the school leadership team and colleagues to contribute to the professional life of the school
- Proactively engage with professional learning to enhance student learning outcomes
- Ensure that the teachings and values of the Catholic Church form a foundation for learning and teaching.
About you - To be successful in this role you will bring relevant qualifications and contemporary teaching experience in Design Technologies Teaching + Other Subject as well as:
- Strong literacy, numeracy and digital literacy practices plus a clear understanding of the Australian Curriculum
- Commitment to child safety
- Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills
- Relevant teaching qualifications and current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT)
- Demonstrated experience or strong capability to teach Design Technologies (Engineering and Materials) in a secondary school setting
- Willingness and ability to teach in other subject areas as required
- Understanding of the Australian Curriculum and its application in secondary education
- Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card) or ability to obtain one
- Proven organisational skills
- Commitment to engage with colleagues, students, and parents/carers to achieve the best outcomes
- Demonstrated competence against the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers across professional knowledge, practice and engagement.
At BCE our teachers are required to:
- Hold a current Queensland College of Teachers registration; and
- Be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.
- Have a commitment to Safeguarding
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience in or willingness to teach Digital Technologies, Graphics, or another subject area
- Knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety requirements in practical workshop environments.

FAQ: Do I have to be Catholic?
If this role does not require you to teach Religious Education, you do not need to be Catholic.
We support all teachers with Accreditation to Teach pathways after you start with us.
