We are seeking Complex Care Support Workers for a Participant in Inala.

Various day shifts of 2:1 supports are available. Experience in supporting participants with Hemiplegic Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy, who are non-verbal and display challenging behaviours would be beneficial, but not essential as training including Maybo will be provided.

Empowerment is a core element of the NDIS and Your Home Care, ensuring Participants can access necessary supports and actively participate in decisions about their lives.

*These roles are specifically for a male participant who prefers male supports, making this exclusively open to male candidates.

Support Worker Responsibilities

  • Advocate for Participants to ensure they are empowered to be heard and effectively communicate their needs and wants.
  • Assist with supervision of medications in line with Individual Support Plans.
  • Assist Participants with personal hygiene, and perform basic personal cares/continence care such as applying and changing dressings, toileting, bathing, etc.
  • Observe and report any changes in the Participant's condition.
  • Interact with family members and friends to ensure all needs are met.
    Undertake errands, shopping, appointments, and other essential community access needs if required.
  • Assist in light domestic duties such as meal preparation, cooking, cleaning etc.
  • Assist with rehabilitation exercises and basic treatment when required.
  • Complete concise reporting.

Support Worker Key Requirements

  • Certificate III in Individual Support or relevant discipline and/or relevant transferable qualifications and experience.
  • Minimum 1 years experience as a support worker dealing with challenging behaviours.
  • Current Drivers Licence (C class).
  • Possession of a Positive Notice Blue Card (or willingness to obtain).
    Current NDIS Worker Screening Card (or willingness to obtain).
  • Current CPR & First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
  • A passion for people and a genuine interest in listening and responding to the needs of others.
  • The physical capability to carry out a range of manual tasks.
  • Having a genuine desire to improve the quality of life of the Participants you support by allowing them to have choice and control over their lives.
  • After completing successful probation period, permanent part-time positions are available to enable career progression.
