About the Role:
The Grants Officer works across the organisation providing strategic direction, leadership and direct delivery of functions associated with identifying, securing and administering of grant funding.
The role is responsible for maximising the level of external funding received by Council for infrastructure and services from other levels of government and other stakeholders. The role works closely with project managers to facilitate project planning, research, and stakeholder engagement to ensure successful applications including grant administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate the development, implementation and evaluation of a comprehensive whole of organisation grant strategy to support Council’s long- and short-term objectives, and to maximise grant revenue.
- Ensure grant compliance and manage Council’s internal grant registration.
- Identify, research, and inform Business Units of external funding opportunities aligned to the Council’s delivery program and other relevant Council strategies and plans.
- Provide specialist advice and oversight of the entire grant lifecycle from identifying funding opportunities to submission and final acquittal.
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Familiarity with relevant budgeting techniques.
- Specialist knowledge and skills in grant writing and grant management.
- Skills in managing time, setting priorities and planning and organising one’s own work so as to achieve specific and set objectives in the most efficient way possible under pressure and within strict timeframes.
- Understanding and an ability to implement basic personnel policies and practices including those related to equal opportunity, occupational health and safety and employees training and development.
