About the company/role:
Our client, a national plastic sterilisation company, is seeking a General Hand (with Forklift license) to join their Brisbane site. This role is an on-going full time casual position, with the opportunity to progress up to an Operator level within 6-12 months of starting! This role will start off on day shifts, but candidates must be flexible to work afternoon shifts as required. Experience with machine maintenance in a manufacturing environment is desirable!

Duties:

• General warehousing and cleaning duties
• Assembling and disassembling plastic crates
• Routine equipment checks
• Routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting of faults
• Provide support to the logistics team including forklift operations
• Report any deviations in processing or procedures immediately to supervisors

Skills/experience:
To be successful in this role, you MUST have/be:

• A trade qualification is desirable however not essential – Fitter and Turner, Certificate II in Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Trade or equivalent.
• A forklift ticket is essential
• Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues quickly and efficiently
• Strong collaboration with other staff and teams
• A safety conscious approach with knowledge of relevant industry safety standards
• Previous experience within the manufacturing/maintenance sector is highly desired
• A proactive approach with the ability to prioritise tasks and accurately maintain records for completed activities
• Current driver’s license and your own reliable vehicle as the site is difficult to access via public transport
