Health Project Worker
Full-Time, 38 hours a week – 18 Months Fixed Term
This is an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander designated position, classified under Section 12 Special Measures of the Equal Opportunity Act (2010).
This employment opportunity is only available to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
About the Role
The Health Project Worker will play a key role in improving the health and well-being of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people by coordinating and supporting various health initiatives, outreach activities, and educational campaigns. This includes coordinating Allied Health Clinics, working alongside clinical staff during outreach appointments, managing Sexual and Reproductive Health Campaigns, leading the Deadly Choices Campaign, and collaborating with Early Years Teams to provide culturally safe Parenting Health Groups.
About You
To excel in this position, you should possess the following qualifications and qualities:
- You are Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
- Aboriginal Health Worker qualification is highly desirable.
- Experience in Community Engagement, or Project Management, preferably in a health or social service setting.
- Proven ability to coordinate and manage Community Health Clinics and outreach activities.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in leading Health Education Campaigns, especially for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to take initiative and work autonomously.
- Cultural competence and understanding of working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
