Position Overview

As the Business Development Manager – Southern Region (AU), you will play a pivotal role in propelling Sim Crawcour's growth in our Southern Region (Tasmania & Victoria). Your mission is to execute a high-impact sales strategy, nurture enduring client relationships, and expand our market presence across your region. Key Responsibilities

Sales Growth & Business Development

  • Strategic Sales Planning: Develop and execute a comprehensive sales plan to drive revenue growth, secure new business, and expand market share.
  • Opportunity Identification: Proactively identify and pursue new sales opportunities by leveraging market insights, networking, and direct outreach.
  • Target Achievement: Consistently meet or exceed annual sales targets in the Southern Region.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Relationship Cultivation: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key customers, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Trusted Advisory: Act as a trusted advisor by aligning client needs with our heritage of expertise and innovative product solutions.
  • Account Management: Lead strategic account management efforts, identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing customer networks.

Market Intelligence & Competitive Strategy

  • Trend Monitoring: Stay ahead of industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging market opportunities to adapt sales strategies effectively.
  • Insight Sharing: Provide actionable insights on customer needs, product trends, and competitor positioning to support business development initiatives.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with internal teams to enhance product offerings and service delivery based on market feedback.

Sales Process & Reporting

  • Pipeline Management: Maintain accurate sales pipeline and performance tracking using CRM tools.
  • Forecasting & Reporting: Prepare sales forecasts, business reviews, and data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Documentation: Ensure timely and accurate submission of all sales-related documentation, including proposals, contracts, and customer orders.

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Team Mentorship: Contribute to the growth and development of the sales team by mentoring and sharing best practices.
  • Professional Representation: Represent Sim Crawcour at sales meetings, trade shows, industry conferences, and other networking events.
  • Interdepartmental Partnership: Collaborate with marketing, product development, and operations to refine sales strategies and enhance the customer experience.

Key Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management within a B2B environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and execute strategic sales plans.
  • Exceptional relationship-building, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • A solid understanding of branding, promotional merchandise, or custom product solutions (or the capacity to learn quickly).
  • Ability to analyse market trends and customer insights to shape effective sales strategies.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and capable of working independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Proficiency with CRM tools and sales tracking systems.

Desirable:

  • Experience in the promotional merchandise, apparel, or wholesale industries.
  • Familiarity with e-commerce sales strategies or hybrid sales models.
  • Experience leveraging trade shows and industry events to drive sales growth.
