NQ Kool Cars and Kustoms main activity is vehicle restoration and rebuilds. This includes custom fabrication, body work, paint and panel, suspension modification, mechanical modifications and upgrades and insurance company claims for repairs and paint.

SPRAY PAINTER:

We are looking for a skilled Vehicle Spray Painter to join our team at a dynamic automotive workshop. This position requires a professional with experience in vehicle painting for both new everyday cars, as well as vintage classics. The successful candidate will play an essential role in restoring, customising, and refurbishing vehicles, including vintage models, providing high-quality finishes that match both the original design and custom modifications.

Skills and Experience required:

  • Certification in automotive Painting or a related field
  • Apply high-quality paint finishes to both new and vintage vehicles, ensuring an excellent level of craftsmanship and smooth surface quality.
  • Select appropriate paint colours, materials, and finishes based on vehicle specifications and customer requirements.
  • Prep vehicle surfaces, including sanding, priming, and applying base coats, clear coats, and final finishes.
  • Work with both modern automotive paints and classic paint formulations for restoration projects, ensuring colour accuracy and adherence to original specifications for vintage cars.
  • Rebuild, strip, and prime surfaces of vintage vehicles, addressing issues such as rust, bodywork imperfections, and historical accuracy in paint finishes.
  • Ensure vehicles are thoroughly cleaned and polished after painting, delivering high-quality results.
  • Maintain and clean spray equipment, including spray guns, compressors, and booths, ensuring they are functioning properly.

MECHANIC:

We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Mechanic with a passion for working on both modern and classic vehicles to join our workshop team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles, including classic car rebuilds and customisations. You will have the opportunity to work on exciting restoration projects, as well as providing expert service to modern cars.

Skills and Experience required:

  • Formal qualifications in Automotive Mechanics or a related field
  • Strong understanding of automotive mechanics, electrical systems, and diagnostics.
  • Extensive knowledge of engine mechanics, transmissions, suspension systems, braking systems, and electrical wiring.
  • Comprehensive experience in general vehicle servicing and maintenance.
  • Experience with both modern vehicle diagnostics and servicing using up-to-date tools and software, as well as older diagnostic methods for classic cars.
  • Skilled in conducting safety inspections, tune-ups, and preventative maintenance on a wide range of vehicles.
  • Strong diagnostic abilities to identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, and performance issues on both modern and classic vehicles.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical problems and suggest appropriate fixes.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and quality workmanship in both the restoration of classic cars and modifications to modern vehicles.
  • Ability to ensure that every project, whether it’s a rebuild, a custom modification, or routine service, meets the highest standards of craftsmanship.
  • Valid driver's license; ability to drive various types of vehicles, including manuals and/or classics.

PANEL BEATER:

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Vehicle Panel Beater to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in repairing, restoring, and customising both modern and classic vehicles, with a special focus on bodywork, panel repairs, and fabrication. You will be working on a diverse range of vehicles, from everyday cars to rare and vintage models, contributing to the restoration and creation of high-quality automotive projects.

Skills and Experience required:

  • Formal qualifications in Panel Beating or a related field.
  • Valid driver's license; ability to drive various types of vehicles, including manuals and/or classics.
  • Proven experience as a panel beater, preferably with a background in classic car restoration.
  • Strong knowledge of modern and traditional vehicle repair techniques, including working with fiberglass repairs.
  • Experience with various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, spot welding) and metalworking tools.
  • Knowledge of vehicle structure, body types, and materials, particularly the differences between classic and modern vehicles.
  • Experience with fabricating and modifying vehicle panels to meet custom design or restoration needs.
  • Excellent attention to detail in both repair and custom build work.
  • Ability to perform both cosmetic and structural body repairs on a variety of vehicles.
  • A creative approach to customising vehicles while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship.
