Sales and Product Support Specialist
HGE Pty Ltd (Harris Australia) is a leading Australian distributor of Gas Equipment with a national footprint as well as a branch in New Zealand.
Our SPSS is a highly technical and knowledgeable Support Specialist who is passionate about delivering superior service to both customers and fellow colleagues contributing to the culture and success of the team.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Sales – quotes and sales order
- Sales – customer communication – calls and emails
- Training – online, telephone, videos or in store as and when required
- Technical support for the Harris Sales staff
- Technical support for Harris customers
- Product build assistance
Job brief
Harris AUS provides a service where a proactive and knowledgeable Sales and Product Support Specialist is required to provide the business and its customers with high level sales and technical support.
The role entails receiving calls and emails from customers for quotes, support and order placement as well as proactively driving sales by communicating with the Harris customer base. Driving product ranges (new and existing) into the segments Harris services is a key role. Support of the sales team as well as support for customers who require technical assistance (can include NZ) is also a requirement.
The Internal Sales and Product Support Specialist is required to offer this support telephonically or in person as and when required. Building solutions with the workshop team will from time to time be required.
General
The Sales and Product Support Specialist reports directly to the General Manager.
An 8-hour working day is expected with a 30-minute tea break and a 30-minute lunch break. From time to time there may be longer hours required but these expectations will be discussed beforehand. This is not an overtime position however in circumstances where the business requires hours outside of the accepted norm overtime can be negotiated with your manager.
Responsibilities
- Receive calls and emails from customers and complete all quote and order requests
- Drive sales by proactively calling and emailing customers to push the Harris range of products (customer lists will be provided).
- Keep customers up to date with stock availability and ETA’s
- Business Admin – Assist CS&WO with debtor and back-order management
- Assist key customers with building solutions for highly specialised use cases
- From time to time offer training when required – lift customer competency levels, new products etc
- Assist with shows and demos when required
- Internal Sales – Priority A
- Hi level customer technical support – Priority B
- Assist with specialist build of product – Priority C
- Assisting the manufacturing team to assemble and design products like but not limited to manifolds will be required as and when customers place orders on speciality builds
- Feedback to management in order to ensure a quick response to resolve product issues and or the need for additional products/innovation is achieved.
Requirements
- 5+ years industry experience (gas distribution and manufacture) or related experience in a trade where gas is a core component – welding, plumbing etc
- Outstanding customer service and professional communication skills with the ability to build relationships both internally and externally
- Team player who will contribute to and uphold excellence in workplace culture, with a hands-on commitment to getting the job done
- Solutions-orientation, maintaining a positive and practical attitude to ensure any challenges encountered are promptly and effectively resolved
- Strong organizational and time management skills to multitask while maintaining accountability for their work outcomes, in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- MS Office proficiency and the ability to input, retrieve and analyse data through software packages and our online e-commerce platform
