We are seeking a highly skilled and business savvy Finance Partner to join our team and play a key role in driving financial strategy, ensuring robust processes, and supporting sustainable business growth.

The Role

As a Finance Partner, you will oversee financial operations across multiple clients, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance while providing quality reporting, analysis and planning. You will be responsible for implementing strong financial controls, optimising processes, and delivering actionable financial analysis to support the company’s and clients’ business objectives. This role requires strong multitasking skills to manage and prioritise the needs of multiple clients effectively.

The ideal candidate must be based in Melbourne and be able to travel to client locations as required, while also having the flexibility to work from home when needed. You must also possess strong resilience, the ability to work independently, and great initiative to thrive in a fast-paced and client-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the finance function for multiple clients, ensuring effective financial planning, reporting, and control.
• Develop and implement robust financial processes and internal controls to enhance operational efficiency.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, budgets, and forecasts, ensuring alignment with business and client objectives.
• Provide commercial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making and profitability enhancement.
• Oversee cash flow management
• Collaborate with teams to drive performance and operational efficiency.
• Lead client teams, fostering a high-performance culture.

Qualifications & Experience

• Professional qualification (e.g., CA, CPA, CIMA) or equivalent degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
• Proven experience (7+ years) in a finance management role, either in an Accounting Services practice managing multiple clients, or in commerce in multi-faceted roles.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and financial analysis skills.
• Expert-level proficiency in Xero.
• Practical experience as a Finance Manager or Partner (or similar) being hands on with multiple aspects of running finances for small to medium businesses (including payroll).
• Fantastic Excel skills and experience in budgeting and forecasting.
• Management reporting experience, preferably using Fathom.
• Excellent process orientation, with a track record of driving efficiency improvements. Experience with tools such as Dext, ApprovalMax, Weel and Employment Hero are an advantage.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to translate financial data into strategic insights.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong resilience, ability to work independently, and high levels of initiative.
• The ability to get stuff done!
