Who are we?

Northcott is an Early Childhood partner contracted to deliver the NDIS Early Childhood Approach (ECA) service to local communities in Northern NSW, Mid North Coast, Hunter New England, Northern Sydney, and Western Sydney. The EC approach supports children aged 0-9 with developmental concerns/delays and/or disability.

Key Responsibilities of the role:

As an Early Childhood Coordinator, you will support families who have concerns about their child’s development; you will do this by:

  • Using your knowledge of 0-9 years of developmental millstones, completing observations and using information from screening tools and/or assessments to understand the impact of the delay or disability
  • Identifying and explaining the most appropriate pathway of support, whether this be access to early support or support with applying for the NDIS
  • Supporting families to connect with local mainstream and community services such as community or child health services, playgroups, childcare, parent support groups, education options and recreation
  • Working with the family to identify their goals and priorities for their child
  • Supporting the family with implementing their child’s NDIS plan and finding service providers that meet the needs of the child and family

The skills and experience we are looking for include:

  • Minimum Diploma tertiary qualification in Early Childhood Education or Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Allied Health or other relevant professional field.
  • Understanding the importance of implementing a tailored and personalised approach to children and their families in delivering the early childhood approach - one size does not fit all.
  • Moderate report writing and IT skills, including database management, as you will write reports and provide details to the NDIA on a child’s developmental and functional abilities, so proficient computer use is essential.
  • Strong communication & interpersonal skills
  • Experience providing support to families using a family-focused and strengths-based approach
  • Demonstrated experience supporting and implementing evidence-based early childhood intervention strategies with families using a capacity-building approach
  • Experience working in collaboration with mainstream and community stakeholders for the best outcomes for children and families

Other requirements include:

  • Current Driver's Licence - P1 minimum
  • Valid Working with Children’s Check Clearance - mandatory
  • Valid NDIS Worker Screening Check (NDIS WC) or willingness to obtain – mandatory
  • Working Rights in Australia
  • Successful pre-employment police check

  • Supportive and experienced Team Leaders & Managers – we want to see you succeed!
  • Diverse and Inclusive—Our teams are multi-cultural, and we embrace different cultures and opinions.

Benefits we offer

  • A diverse group of people in a great team environment who share knowledge, pursue growth and a desire for excellence.
  • Salary packaging, Perkbox, health and wellbeing benefits and more
  • Great leave entitlements & flexible working environment.

The role will be based out of our Coffs Harbour office and cover the local region as it involves some travel to meet the child and families/carers in their community and home environment.

To apply, please send an updated resume and a brief cover letter outlining the skills and experience relevant to the role's requirements.

Northcott will review candidates throughout the recruitment process, likely before the close date and you will be advised of an outcome. For general enquiries about the role you are applying for, please email [email protected] .
