About the Role

This hands-on role blends cyber engineering and analytical expertise to protect the department's global ICT environment. You’ll monitor, analyse, and enhance cyber defences, contribute to incident response efforts, and help drive improvements in detection and response strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor, analyse and enhance cyber security systems and defences
• Assist with log ingestion and use case development for new systems
• Respond to security incidents and support remediation activities
• Develop and maintain cyber security playbooks and documentation
• Conduct threat hunts and identify patterns of anomalous activity
• Recommend enhancements to prevent future cyber incidents

Skills & Experience

• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Cyber Security Analyst and/or Engineer
• Hands-on experience with Splunk or similar SIEM platforms
• Strong knowledge of hybrid log ingestion (Azure and AWS)
• Proven ability to design and test use cases to detect threats
• Excellent collaboration and knowledge-sharing within a team
• Well-developed technical writing and documentation skills

Existing Negative Vetting 1 security clearance is a mandatory requirement for this position.
