Position Title: Manager – Aged Care Services Eastern Zone
Reports To: Senior Manager – Aged Care and Transport Services
Location: Eastern Zone (Cootamundra, Goulbourn, Yass, Boorowa, Crookwell)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Position Purpose
The Manager – Aged Care Services is responsible for the day-to-day operational management of aged care services within their designated zone (Eastern). This includes supervising Coordinators and Support Workers, ensuring high-quality service delivery in line with Aged Care Quality Standards, and supporting the workforce to provide person-centred, safe, and respectful care to participants.
This role plays a key part in the frontline leadership of Valmar’s aged care operations, ensuring that participant outcomes are met, staff are supported, and services run efficiently and compliantly.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
Oversee the daily delivery of aged care services within the designated zone, ensuring services meet participant needs and expectations.
Coordinate rosters, service allocations, and staff workloads to ensure continuity and efficiency of care.
Monitor service quality and implement improvements in response to feedback, audits, or incidents.
Ensure client records, support plans, and documentation are current and accurate.
Ensure all services are delivered in accordance with relevant Aged Care Quality Standards and Valmar’s policies and procedures.
Staff Supervision & Support
Supervise and support Coordinators and frontline Support Workers.
Conduct regular team meetings, provide feedback, and oversee performance management and development.
Identify training needs and coordinate access to learning opportunities and supervision.
Support staff wellbeing and morale, fostering a positive and inclusive team culture.
Conduct regular field visits and staff check-ins to monitor service delivery.
Client Engagement
Respond to participant and supporter enquiries, feedback, or complaints in a timely and professional manner.
Participate in care reviews and ensure services are responsive to participant needs.
Maintain respectful and supportive relationships with participants, and their supporters.
Compliance & Reporting
Ensure compliance with Valmar’s systems and legislative obligations, including incident reporting, risk management, and data entry.
Support audits, quality improvement projects, and reporting requirements as directed.
Ensure staff compliance with policies including WHS, privacy, and safeguarding practices.
Work Health and Safety (WHS) Responsibilities
Promote a culture of safety and compliance among staff.
Identify and respond to WHS risks and hazards.
Ensure team members follow safe work procedures and attend WHS training.
Participate in regular WHS meetings, inspections, and reporting.
Essential Selection Criteria
Qualifications & Experience
Tertiary qualifications in Aged Care, Community Services, Health, or a related discipline, or demonstrated equivalent experience in a relevant field.
Previous experience in a supervisory or coordinator role in aged care or community services.
Knowledge of Aged Care Quality Standards and compliance frameworks.
Leadership & Team Coordination
Experience supervising teams and managing workloads or rosters.
Ability to support staff performance, development, and wellbeing.
Communication & Client Service
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with staff, participants and their supporters.
Ability to resolve complaints or concerns promptly and respectfully.
Organisation & Accountability
Strong time management, multitasking, and documentation skills.
Ability to meet deadlines and comply with reporting requirements.
Technology & Systems
Proficient in Microsoft Office and client management systems (e.g., TANDA, Sandwai).
Ability to complete digital documentation and reporting tasks accurately.
Desirable
Previous experience in a not-for-profit or community-based organisation.
Familiarity with transport coordination, home support programs, or CHSP/HCP funding.
Driver’s licence and willingness to travel within the region as required.
