Workplace Services Officer, Sydney Metro Hubs

Location: Parramatta

Employment Type: Ongoing Full Time, Clerk Grade 7/8, $110,266 to $122,058 pa plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

Your role

We are looking for a proactive and experienced Workplace Services Officer to join our dynamic, purpose led team at Department Communities & Justice (DCJ). In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation of our touchdown workplace network, whilst fostering a positive, safe, and productive environment for all employees across DCJ offices. This role is based in Parramatta, leading the Workplace Support for our Sydney Metro touchdown workplaces.

What you'll do

  • In this role, you will oversee and coordinate the daily operation of workplace services, including facilities management, office maintenance for our network of Touchdown offices in Metro Sydney, ensuring our staff are safe, happy and our workplaces are compliant.
  • You will provide customer centric high-level support to DCJ staff and management, looking for opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement to ensure our workplace services meet departmental needs.
  • As a people person, you are comfortable dealing with a wide range of stakeholders, communicating confidently and proactively solving problems, whilst ensuring timely sharing of information and managing escalating workplace issues.
  • You will assist in the management and coordination of workplace related projects, building upgrades, and general facility management, carefully balancing the needs of our staff with the operational delivery needs.
  • You will lead from the front to ensure the health, safety, and security of all employees in our touchdown workplace network, including conducting regular risk assessments managing workplace safety programs.
  • Understanding the performance of our workplace is critical to our ability to constantly meet the changing needs of our workforce. Your ability to critically review and evaluate key workplace metrics to provide informed recommendations and reports to management and executives, will be essential to the success of this role.

What we're looking for

The successful candidate will display the following:

  • Proven experience in workplace services, facilities management, or a related field, with a strong understanding of workplace operations.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on providing exceptional in-person customer service.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality outcomes.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software tools.
  • NSW Driving Licence
  • Able to work on site and based in Parramatta, working across Sydney Metro offices.

Desirable Criteria:

  • A relevant qualification in facilities management, workplace services, or a related discipline.
  • Previous experience in a government or large organisational environment.
