Remuneration: $73,427 - $104,753 per annum
Hours Per Week: 38 (Job Share may be considered for part time hours)

Where you'll be working
The Special Needs Department of Westmead’s Dental Hospital (WSLHD Oral Health Services) is the only state-wide referral service for specialist-lead Special Needs Dentistry, providing dental treatment to patients with a broad variety of physical and intellectual disabilities, along with complex medical issues who find it difficult to access mainstream dental services, as well as those not medically stable enough to receive treatment in the community setting.
What you'll be doing
To provide a high standard of general oral health care, including oral health education, to eligible patients at facilities across Western Sydney Local Health District. The role will include oral health promotion and population health activities. The successful applicant will be exposed to a broad scope of hospital-based dentistry, and as a Level 2 Oral Health Therapist, will be required to demonstrate an advanced level of clinical, diagnostic and client management skills, albeit in a consultant-lead setting. In addition, the applicant will be required to support the Department with additional administration duties and be required to facilitate inpatient care, in particular, ward visits and facilitating inpatient transfers.

Essential Requirements
- Registration: Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as an Oral Health Therapist or both the registrations of Dental Therapist and Dental Hygienist
Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated sound clinical and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with a range of individuals including the general public.
- A demonstrated understanding of and commitment to a preventative / population health approach to patient care.
- A demonstrated ability to work within a large team and independently under minimal professional supervision.
- A demonstrated commitment to continuing education.
- Demonstrated oral health therapy clinical experience.
