The company’s packing facility operates on the same site as the original family farm, established over 60 years ago. Premium Fresh ensures both good crop rotations and the best growing conditions across the north of Tasmania. Premium Fresh Tasmania personnel prepare the land, plant and nurture the vegetables and then harvest each crop with company owned machinery.

Role Overview
As a Forklift Operator, you’ll play a key role in supporting the flow of raw produce, packaging, and finished goods throughout our production facility. You’ll be responsible for safe and efficient forklift operation, maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety, while ensuring products are always in the right place at the right time. You will operate a Forklift, across various shifts (day, afternoon, and night) within a 7-day roster. For this position, we welcome candidates with prior experience and demonstrated forklift operation skills. We look forward to hearing from you!

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

Current Forklift License

Minimum of 1 year driving forklifts.

Strong knowledge of safe work practices and commitment to workplace safety.

Desirable:

Previous experience in food production or warehouse environments.

Ability to perform pre-start checks on cloud software.

Tasks & responsibilities:

Operating forklifts to safely transport produce, packaging, and finished goods throughout the facility.

Delivering materials to production areas on time and efficiently removing waste.

Storing goods in designated areas, including temperature-controlled zones, to maintain product integrity.

Conducting pre-start safety checks and ensuring forklift equipment remains clean and well-maintained.

Completing load plans and documentation for all incoming and outgoing deliveries.

Applying FIFO (First In, First Out) principles to ensure accurate labelling and traceability of stock.

Monitoring forklift operation through gauges, instruments, and computerized tracking systems.

Inspecting forklifts to identify wear, damage, or mechanical issues.
