As an Oral Health Therapist, you will be integral to providing essential dental care with a focus on preventive and therapeutic services. You will work closely with a diverse group of patients, promoting oral health and providing treatment for a wide range of dental conditions. This role combines the skills of a dental hygienist and a dental therapist, offering an opportunity to work within both scopes of practice.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct dental examinations and assess oral health conditions.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
• Perform clinical dental hygiene procedures such as scaling, root planning, and applying topical fluorides and sealants.
• Provide restorative dental treatments under the prescription of a dentist.
• Take and interpret dental radiographs.
• Using 3D scans of patients' teeth to create treatment plans and presenting these to our dental professionals for review.
• Conducting patient consultations and explaining the treatment process, including costs, timelines, and expected outcomes.
• Educate patients on maintaining optimal oral health.
• Maintain patient records with accurate documentation of treatments and care.
• Work collaboratively with dentists, dental assistants, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive dental care.
• Assisting patients with payment and financial arrangements for their treatment.
• Performing general administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, maintaining patient records, and answering phone and email inquiries.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Oral Health or equivalent, recognized by the Australian Dental Council.
• Register with the Dental Board of Australia via the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
• Proficient in using modern dental software and radiographic equipment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to continuing education and professional development.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and remain organized in a busy environment.
• Experience in adult scope is preferred.
