The Role:

We are seeking experienced Registered Nurse, for contract opportunities in Corrections Health. As a Primary Health Care Nurse in a correctional setting, you'll play a key role in promoting health and wellbeing among inmates, many of whom have complex and chronic health needs. To be successful you will need to have experience with risk assessments, primary health, immunisations and coordinating patient transfers to the main hospital. We have contracts available form 6-12 weeks with travel & accommodation provided.

About the Role

• Provide comprehensive assessments, treatments, and health education

• Manage chronic disease, acute illness, and mental health concerns
• Coordinate with medical, allied health, and custodial teams
• Deliver culturally appropriate care in line with best practice standards
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to continuous quality improvement

About You:

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
• Minimum 2 years' experience in primary health or correctional nursing
• Advanced clinical assessment and triage skills
• Strong communication and resilience
• Cultural sensitivity, particularly working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
• Ability to work autonomously in challenging environments
