Your role

As a Dentist in the Air Force, you’ll be responsible for providing dental services to maintain the oral health of ADF members. You'll also operate and maintain portable dental treatment facilities within Australia and overseas to provide dental services to deployed members of all ages and health status.

Your duties may include:

oral healthcare of deployed members

management of dental units and facilities

assuring the safety and quality of healthcare provided

mentoring and training of junior Dentists

applying first aid or advanced life support

assisting with patient triage

assessment, prevention, diagnosis and treatment of oral and dental conditions e.g. endodontics, oral surgery etc.

As an Air Force Officer, you’ll also be trained to become an inspirational leader and mentor, equipped with highly sought-after management skills.

Upon completion of initial military and employment training, you will enjoy a salary package starting from $126,782.

Location

Following training, you may be posted to one of the major Air Force bases around Australia, such as RAAF Base Amberley or Williamtown.

For this role, you must be at least 17 at the time of enlistment, an Australian Citizen, have completed a Bachelor of Dental Science degree or equivalent, and be registered as a Dentist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
