ASPHALT LABOURER / MACHINE OPERATOR - NORTH BRISBANE

Ongoing Work | Day & Night Shifts | $37-$44/hr + Overtime | Start ASAP

We are currently looking for motivated, reliable, and experienced Asphalt Labourers and Machine Operators to join a growing civil and roadworks team in North Brisbane. This is a fantastic opportunity to secure steady work with great pay and long-term potential.

About the Role:

You'll be working on various civil construction and road surfacing projects across the North Brisbane area. The role includes both general labouring and operating machinery/equipment as needed.

We're looking for team players who take pride in their work, show up on time, and can jump straight in with minimal supervision.

🛠️ Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Preparing surfaces for asphalt laying (sweeping, cleaning, and applying tack coat)

Raking and shovelling hot mix asphalt with precision and efficiency

Operating a range of machinery (e.g., pavers, rollers, skid steers) to lay and compact asphalt

Driving and operating HR trucks to transport materials and machinery

Hand compacting edges and tight areas where machinery can't reach

Setting up job sites, traffic control devices, and following safety procedures

Assisting with breakdowns, clean-up, and end-of-day site pack down

Reporting defects or issues with equipment and materials to site supervisor

Supporting general labour tasks as required to ensure smooth operations

What You Need to Be Successful:

Minimum 2 years of asphalt or roadworks experience

Strong skills with rake and shovel in asphalt application

Valid machinery tickets (e.g., Roller, Paver, Skid Steer highly regarded)

HR Truck License or higher - essential

White Card - Construction Induction

Comfortable working day, night, and weekend shifts

Physically fit and able to work in all weather conditions

Team player with a strong work ethic and commitment to safety
