Role: Casual Coach (Exercise Scientist / Personal Trainer)
Start Date: When we find someone who actually fits.
We’re not your average gym, and we’re not looking for average coaches.
Iron Monk Fitness is on the hunt for qualified Exercise Scientists or experienced Personal Trainers who know how to coach, care, and connect. We’re a high-performance, semi-private training facility that blends evidence-based programming with a strong community vibe.
We don’t care if you can do muscle-ups. We care if you can get the quiet guy with a shoulder injury to move better, teach a mum of 3 to lift with confidence, and hold a room without barking like a bootcamp sergeant.
👇 What You’ll Actually Be Doing
• Running small-group, semi-private strength sessions (8 clients max)
• Personalising programs based on assessments, injuries, and goals
• Leading movement assessments and progress tracking
• Giving a sh*t. Coaching, cueing, and making people feel seen — not just counting reps
• Helping with gym upkeep (you’ll never scrub toilets, but we all wipe benches and rack weights)
• Being part of a tight, growth-driven team that thrives on feedback and standards
🔎 What We’re Looking For
• Exercise Scientist/Physiologist (Ideally) or minimal Cert III & IV with serious experience
• Strong communication and people skills — you gotta like humans
• Ability to coach real people, not just flex in front of mirrors
• Passion for strength training, biomechanics, and actual progress
• First Aid & CPR (non-negotiable)
• Bonus: You’ve dealt with rehab cases, strength plateaus, and people with busy, real lives
