About the role

Watson Marine Engineering Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled Fitter & Turner to join our team in Coomera, Queensland. This is a casual position, offering the opportunity to work on a variety of interesting projects within the marine engineering industry.

What you'll be doing

Performing skilled fitting and turning work on a range of marine vessels

Operating lathes & mills on a daily basis

Interpreting technical drawings and specifications to fabricate, assemble, and maintain marine parts

Utilising a range of hand tools, power tools, and specialised machinery to carry out maintenance and repair tasks

Ensuring all work is completed to high standards of quality and safety

Collaborating with other tradespeople and technicians as part of a dynamic team

What we're looking for

Machining, threading & tapering experience

Formal trade qualifications as a Fitter & Turner/ Machinist (3rd or 4th year apprentices ok)

Proven experience in a similar role within the marine engineering or heavy industry sectors

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team

A keen eye for detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work

Good communication skills and the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications

A valid driver's licence and your own reliable transportation
