About the role
Exciting opportunity for an experienced Paediatrics Nurse to join Mater Children’s Private Brisbane (MCPB) as a Clinical Nurse. As a clinical nurse you will be a leader on the unit and help MCPB provide the best patient care to our patients. This is a permanent full-time position.
MCPB continues to provide Queensland families with access to leading paediatric doctors, nurses and care providers from admission to discharge at a modern stand-alone facility for families with private health insurance. We are a small but highly valued team, providing exceptional services to our paediatric clientele as part of our Mater strategy, Exceptional Every Time.
Salary range: $54.45 - $58.30 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
- Provide expert clinical leadership in paediatric patient assessment and care planning
- Demonstrate effective coordination of staff and utilisation of clinical resources to optimise service delivery
- Support the Nurse Unit Manager and Nurse Educator in the development and updating of unit policies, procedures and guidelines
- Provide clinical guidance and team leadership to members of the clinical team and maintain consistent and collaborative implementation of quality improvement activities. This includes the management of a portfolio aligned with the NSQHS standards
- Maintaining current knowledge and skills to ensure continued professional growth
About you
To be successful in your application you will have:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a paediatric ward environment
- Post graduate qualifications in paediatrics or working towards
- High level skills in problem-solving, communication, coordination and time management
- Strong paediatric focus and passion for providing family centred care
- Ability to collaborate effectively with other health professionals, patients and relatives/carers
- A strong work ethic, positive attitude and willingness to role model and promote the Mater values
