About the Welcome Experience
The Welcome Experience, a NSW Government-funded program delivered by Regional Development Australia Southern NSW & ACT (RDASNA), is dedicated to supporting key workers as they integrate into our vibrant communities across Hilltops, Goulburn, Snowy Monaro, Queanbeyan-Palerang, Upper Lachlan, Wingecarribee, and Yass Valley. We offer a range of services designed to make their transition as smooth, supportive, and welcoming as possible.
THE ROLE
Regional Development Australia (RDA) Southern NSW & ACT are seeking a passionate and proactive Local Connector to support key workers across the Southern NSW region. This community-focused role is ideal for someone who is relational, engaged, and committed to helping key public service workers — including those in education, healthcare, police, fire and rescue, and community services — have a positive and welcoming experience. You will collaborate with employers, community organisations, and local groups to strengthen connections and enhance the overall experience of living and working in our region.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage, facilitate and implement the key worker concierge project through stakeholder engagement, events, communications and one on one client support.
Develop trusted relationships with clients to ascertain their needs and find solutions to improve their regional community assimilation.
Manage the project, financial budgets, end of program acquittals and reporting.
Manage, facilitate and report on program progress.
Measure, monitor, evaluate and report on metrics, outcomes and impacts.
Develop and grow stakeholder relationships, contacts, collaborators and partners.
Consult effectively with regional stakeholders to identify key worker challenges, barriers, opportunities and solutions.
Devise and implement solutions-focussed deliverables to improve the program outcomes and impacts.
Prepare information on the project for internal and external communications including website, newsletter, social media, media releases and reports.
Manage and monitor data base contacts, communications and program resources.
Report to the Program lead agency, Chief Executive Officer and Board when required.
Other duties as directed by the Chief Executive Officer.

SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential:
Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including employers, community groups, and individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Demonstrated cultural competence and sensitivity, with experience engaging respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, LGBTIQA+ communities, people with disabilities, and culturally and linguistically diverse groups.
Ability to support individuals through various stages of relocation, providing practical guidance and emotional support to help them settle and thrive.
Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate records and reporting.
Experience in planning and delivering inclusive community engagement activities or events.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop clear, accessible resources tailored to different audiences.
Proficiency with digital tools and platforms for communication, event management, and reporting.
Desirable:
Knowledge of the Southern NSW regions, including local services, community organisations, and cultural contexts.
Experience working in community development, human services, local government, or similar sectors.
Familiarity with the needs of key workers across sectors such as education, healthcare, police, fire and rescue, and community services.
Event management experience, including logistics, promotion, and evaluation.

REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION:
You must reside in the regions of Snowy Monaro or Queanbeyan-Palerang.
Current NSW Driver’s licence.
Appropriate space to Work from Home with WHS compliant facilities.
Must be prepared to travel for regular face to face team meetings and events.
Must be able to travel across the region including overnight stays when required.
