This full-time, fixed-term position within the secondary school division is available for an immediate start.

The Role
As the Learning Support Teacher (Numeracy), you will work with students requiring additional assistance or advanced learning programs. You will assess individual needs, develop tailored learning plans, and collaborate closely with teachers, families, and allied health professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess students to determine individual educational needs
- Develop and implement Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) in collaboration with teachers
- Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to support student success
- Deliver targeted lessons in small groups or one-on-one settings
- Coordinate cognitive assessments with speech therapists and psychologists
- Facilitate Parent Support Group (PSG) meetings and maintain detailed records
- Liaise regularly with families and staff to monitor progress and support strategies
What We're Looking For
- A tertiary qualification in education (special education is highly regarded)
- Current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT)
- Strong knowledge of inclusive education practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A commitment to child safety and student well-being
- Confidence working with external professionals such as psychologists and speech therapists
- Ability to integrate ICT into teaching practice effectively
