The National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) is seeking a Gallery Teacher who will be responsible for developing, facilitating and evaluating high-quality learning programs and projects that welcome and inspire diverse audiences to engage with the NGV.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

You will be responsible for developing and delivering high quality learning programs and projects for a variety of contexts (onsite, online and outreach) and audiences. You will be coordinating learning projects and programs including developing and monitoring budgets and timelines and collaborating and liaising with other team members to ensure program or project outcomes are achieved. To be successful you will have experience in designing and delivering engaging learning experiences in an education setting or cultural organisation, and ability to adapt teaching and facilitation methods to learners of different needs, interests and experience, coupled with the successful attainment of an appropriate teaching qualification and current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching. You have demonstrated commitment to the value of visual arts and design in education, and the flexibility to undertake outreach programs, including in regional areas, if required.

You can quickly establish a natural rapport with a range of people; you are able to use spoken and written language to convey and obtain information, insights and ideas and are able to provide information to a group of people in formal and informal settings. You understand the beliefs, customs, needs and expectations of the general community, a specific community, or client group; considers situations, activities, decisions and outcomes from the perspective of how people of different ethnic, religious, professional or social identifications might see them, demonstrating an understanding of the value of diversity.
