My client is a well-established public practice firm with over 20 years in business, offering a unique opportunity to join a tight-knit team that works fully remote, with just one quarterly visit to the office in Cootamundra, NSW.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced public practice accountant based in New South Wales who thrives in an autonomous role, enjoys advisory work, and wants exposure to a wide range of industries and clients.

• Farmers and agricultural businesses
• Transport and logistics companies
• Investment entities (they hold their own AFSL)

You'll be working with loyal, long-term clients across metro and regional Australia, giving you an interesting and varied portfolio to manage.

About the Role

This is a senior-level role with a focus on compliance and advisory work.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Preparing financial statements and tax returns (companies, trusts, individuals)
• Assisting and reviewing work prepared by junior accountants
• Providing training, support, and answering technical queries
• Managing workflow, deadlines, and lodgements
• Engaging in advisory tasks including budgeting and cashflow forecasting
• Occasional work with FBT, GST, and CGT (solid CGT knowledge is important)

Tools & Systems The firm is fully cloud-based, using:

• Xero and Xero Practice Manager (XPM)
• Business Fitness for workpapers and workflow

Who They're Looking For To succeed in this role, you'll need:

• At least 5 years' experience in public practice accounting
• Strong technical ability with financial statements, tax returns, and CGT
• Confidence working autonomously in a remote environment
• Willingness to occasionally support and guide junior team members
• Based in NSW with the ability to travel to Cootamundra quarterly
