About the Position

We’re looking for a Horticulturalist to assist with the installation, maintenance, and rejuvenation of turf and gardens across civic landscapes and recreational parks. You’ll monitor plant health, prioritise treatments, and operate and maintain equipment to a high standard. The role includes supporting work planning, training staff in horticultural best practices, and providing onsite guidance to contractors.

Leadership in the absence of the Team Leader and active participation in team improvement and training initiatives are also part of this hands-on role.

About the Person

To succeed in this role, you’ll need solid horticultural experience with the ability to apply technical knowledge across turf care, planting, and general landscape maintenance. You should have a strong understanding of plant species selection suited to local conditions, as well as practical knowledge of turf management techniques, chemical and fertiliser use, and planting specifications.

Experience in reading and interpreting basic planting plans, using digital systems for operational tasks, and maintaining accurate records is essential. You’ll need to be well-organised and capable of prioritising work to meet service levels and respond to customer enquiries.

You must hold a Certificate III or higher in Horticulture, a current WA White Card, and a valid WA C class driver’s licence. A WA MR class driver’s licence is desirable.
