About the role

As an Assistant in Nursing at Kurrajong Nursing Home, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, compassionate care to our elderly residents. This is a casual position, offering flexible hours to suit your needs. Based in Kurrajong, NSW 2758, you will be part of a dedicated team committed to enhancing the wellbeing and quality of life for the residents in our care.

What you'll be doing

Assisting our Registered Nurses and Enrolled Nurses with a range of daily care activities, including personal hygiene, medication administration, monitoring vital signs, and supporting mobilisation

Providing companionship and engaging in social activities with residents to promote their mental and emotional wellbeing

Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of resident care and progress

Adhering to all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure the highest standards of safety and quality care

Collaborating with the multidisciplinary care team to contribute to the development and implementation of resident care plans

What we're looking for

A current Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged Care) or equivalent qualification

Demonstrated experience in a similar role, preferably within the aged care or healthcare sector

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with residents and their families

A compassionate and empathetic nature, with a genuine commitment to improving the lives of older adults

Strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team

A current First Aid certificate and police check or willining to obtain

Flexibility to work a variety of shifts
