About the role

We are seeking a compassionate and organised Pet Crematorium Assistant to join our team at Sunshine Coast Pet Crematorium. This is a casual role (approx 18 hours a week) based in Yandina, QLD, providing support in our pet crematorium. This is a meaningful role that requires a balance of empathy and efficiency, helping families through one of their most difficult times with care and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide respectful and compassionate service to grieving pet owners

Collect pets from veterinary practices and private homes according to a set schedule

Prepare deceased pets for cremation with care and dignity

Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the crematorium, equipment, and company vehicle

Accurately record and label all items to ensure proper tracking and return of ashes

Drive company vehicle safely and responsibly, following all road regulations

Work efficiently while upholding a high standard of care and respect

Requirements:

Genuine compassion for people and animals

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Strong time management and organisational abilities

Ability to work to a schedule and within time constraints

Full, clean driving licence and good driving record

Dependable, professional, and emotionally resilient

Comfortable with the physical aspects of the role, including handling deceased pet

Experience in a similar role is valued but not essential — the right attitude and a caring nature are what matter most.
