Suncare Support Worker - what's involved in the role?

We are seeking a Permanent Part-Time Support Worker (75 hours per fortnight) to provide in-home support to our customers. Your work hours will be Monday to Friday, 7am to 3pm and you will have a fleet vehicle provided as the role serves as leave coverage for Caboolture and Brisbane and offers considerable variety.

You will begin your day at our Suncare North Lakes office at 7am to collect a fleet vehicle and equipment, and you will then complete an assigned route for the day returning to North Lakes office by 3pm. Due to the nature of the role, daily routes may vary and higher volumes of travel apply in work-related travel across Caboolture to Brisbane.

The role of a Suncare Support Worker actively supports the individual needs of aged people who are living at home, either independently or with family. No two days are the same with our customers and may include delivering personal care, household domestic assistance (cleaning bathrooms, mopping, dusting), meal preparation, accompanying them on shopping trips, appointments, community activities, providing general companionship, and helping them build social networks.

For this position you will be required to be physically fit, hold a valid Driver's Licence and be willing to use your own vehicle for work purposes, ensuring that your vehicle is appropriately insured. A Criminal History Check and CPR and First Aid certificates are required in this position, and you will need to have the ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.

As prescribed by the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award the rate of pay for this classification is:

$32.67 per hour, plus superannuation for Aged Care Workers with a Certificate III Individual Support (Ageing) or equivalent

$31.64 per hour, plus superannuation for Aged Care Workers without a Certificate III Individual Support (Ageing) or equivalent
