About the role
Fixed term temporary part time opportunity to deliver advanced, specialist level speech pathology clinical and consultancy services in the areas of complex acquired communication and dysphagia management, including dementia care, to the Geriatric Evaluation and Management Unit (GEM) and Cognitive Assessment and Management Unit (CAM) and other sub-acute services, as required.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Independently apply advanced level of knowledge, expertise and skills in contemporary speech pathology clinical practice for older adults with diverse medical presentations and complex care needs within the GEM and CAM units.
- Work collaboratively within the Speech Pathology Department and with multidisciplinary clinicians and researchers across TPCH and MNHHS, health care consumers and with other internal and external stakeholders to achieve optimal health care outcomes and enhanced models of speech pathology service delivery.
- Provide active leadership in the professional development and education of speech pathologists, multidisciplinary staff and students, through the monitoring of professional standards, facilitation and provision of training, formal education programs and clinical practice supervision.
