About the Role
An exciting opportunity is available with a federal government client for an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer to join a dynamic, high-performing team. This contract role focuses on supporting and administering Red Hat OpenShift and containerised infrastructure environments at scale.
You’ll be instrumental in delivering secure, high-availability Kubernetes solutions, contributing to major cloud infrastructure initiatives, and providing leadership across technical projects. This role offers the chance to work in a collaborative environment with long-term project visibility.

Skills & Experience Required
Essential Criteria

• 5+ years of professional experience in system administration within large-scale ICT environments within Government
• Minimum 3+ years experience in Kubernetes/OpenShift cluster administration
• Strong hands-on expertise across Kubernetes networking, storage, security, and containerised environments
• Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration (or willingness to obtain within first 3–6 months)
• Experience working in secure, regulated environments aligned with the Information Security Manual (ISM) and Essential 8
• NV1 Security Clearance

Desirable Criteria

• Certifications in Cloud Platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
• Knowledge and experience with:
• Ansible, Helm, Terraform
• CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows
• Scripting languages (Python, Bash)
• Linux system administration
• Experience leading projects or mentoring junior engineers in a collaborative setting
