About the role

Central West Transport is seeking a reliable and experienced Road Train Operator to join our team in Geraldton, WA. As a casual position, this role will involve the operation of large road trains across local and regional areas, transporting bulk goods and materials for our diverse client base. The successful candidate will play a crucial part in ensuring the efficient and safe delivery of freight while adhering to all relevant regulations and procedures.

What you'll be doing

Safely operate road trains, including double and triple configurations, to transport freight across local and regional areas

Conduct pre-start vehicle inspections, monitor vehicle performance, and report any issues or maintenance requirements

Load and unload freight, ensuring proper securing and load distribution

Maintain accurate records of driving hours, distances, and deliveries

Adhere to all relevant road transport regulations, safety protocols, and company policies

Provide excellent customer service and communication with clients, dispatchers, and other stakeholders

What we're looking for

Minimum 3 years' experience operating large road trains, preferably in a commercial freight or logistics environment

Current Multi-Combination (MC) driver's licence

Strong knowledge of road transport regulations, safety procedures, and safe driving practices

Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and time management skills

Demonstrated commitment to safety and a proven record of safe driving

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as required

Currently residing in Geraldton or surrounding areas, unless plans are in place to relocate
