Job Overview:
As a Sample Management Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient processing, handling, and storage of Chemistry laboratory samples. Your attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively will help maintain high standards of quality and safety in our laboratory operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Sample Processing: Process the receipt of samples and accurately enter relevant details into the Laboratory Management Information System (LIMS).
Customer Liaison: Communicate with the Customer Service Team or external customers to clarify information related to samples and ensure accurate handling.
Sample Preparation Assistance: Provide support in sample preparation as required, ensuring proper handling and preparation for analysis.
Sample Storage & Disposal: Assist with the management of sample storage, including proper documentation, tracking, and disposal when samples are no longer required.
Safety & Compliance: Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to Symbio Laboratories' Safety and Quality Systems and Procedures.
Environmental Procedures: Follow documented environmental procedures, report any issues or deviations related to environmental concerns to the QA Department.
Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned by the Sample Management Manager to support the efficient running of the laboratory.
Essential Requirements:
Flexibility: Ability to work rosters that meet business demands, including some weekend or evening shifts if required.
Chemistry Background: A desirable qualification in Chemistry, with a solid understanding of laboratory practices and procedures.
Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with procedures.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to liaise with customers, team members, and other departments.
Team Player: Ability to work well within a team and support colleagues to achieve common goals.
Safety Conscious: A commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant laboratory environment.
